🌱 Sometimes, healing and wholeness look like st 🌱 Sometimes, healing and wholeness look like stepping into what God is calling you to build.

Over the past few years, I’ve been learning not just how to write — but how to build a meaningful, sustainable business that aligns with my faith, values, and calling.

I’ve worked with incredible people like Brett Harris, @theauthorprogram, @beckykopitzke, @savvysidehustle, and more. And I praise God for the @authorconservatory every single day. ❤️

Not only are they SUPER understanding of physical and mental health issues, but they love Jesus authentically. Craft, character, and career are truly at the heart of what they do.

Now, the SAME business training I received through the Author Conservatory is being offered through a new program called the Rising Entrepreneur Institute — and if you’re someone who’s ever said:

🙋‍♀️ “I don’t think college is for me...”
🙋 “I wish I could start my own business…”
🙋‍♂️ “I want to do work that actually matters…”

This could be your next right step.

💰 Apply by May 18th, and you’ll get $1,000 off tuition when you list my name (Amber Ginter Johnson) as your referral.
💰 And I’ll receive $1,000 for every person who enrolls through me.

It’s a win-win — and a way for us both to invest in something eternally significant.

📅 Deadline: May 18
👤 Use my name when applying!

🤍 I know this isn’t my typical mental health post, but I believe stepping into your God-given calling is deeply connected to healing and wholeness. If this opportunity speaks to you, I’d love to walk alongside you.

🤍 GEN Z SPOTLIGHT: MEET CHARIS 🤍 This week, 🤍 GEN Z SPOTLIGHT: MEET CHARIS 🤍

This week, I’m featuring someone close to my heart—my sweet friend (and like a little sis), Charis. Writer. Mentor. Mental health warrior. 🫶✨

Charis recently opened up to me about her experience living with OCD, and I just knew I wanted to share her story. Why? Because it's real, raw, and deep. Her story reminds us all that healing is not linear but worth it.

Charis is a graduate of The Author Conservatory (aka a super cool program that helps writers turn passion into a sustainable career), and she’s the kind of mentor I wish every young writer had. She believes in storytelling that inspires courage + hope—especially for the next gen. 💬🌱

Homeschooled and raised on amazing books, Charis fell in love with children’s stories—and now she helps others tell theirs. When she’s not teaching or coaching students, you’ll probably find her surfing the NC coast 🏄‍♀️🌊 or hiking beautiful mountains (yes, she’s that cool).

In her videos, she opened up about the intrusive thoughts + mental weight that OCD brings—and how her faith + community help carry her through. Her story is a reminder: struggling doesn’t make you weak. It makes you human. 💛

Gen Z—we need voices like Charis's. Honest. Hopeful. Holy.

Let’s show her some love in the comments and break the stigma—what’s one thing you wish people understood about mental health? 💬👇

Lately, God’s been teaching me: Opening my eyes Lately, God’s been teaching me:

Opening my eyes.
Helping me see more clearly.
Adjusting my vision.

❤️That I’m not called to know the next step—I’m called to be obedient and faithful.

❤️That I need the Sabbath. It’s not a sin to rest. It’s holy.

❤️That there’s always room to grow in our faith. It’s okay to ask God hard questions. It’s not okay to stay stuck in surface-level faith.

If your mind feels heavy today—it’s okay. You’re still growing and learning and held. Because healing isn’t a straight line. It’s a process. Growth will never be perfect. But Jesus is so patient with us! Even when we’re impatient with ourselves.

If you’re in the middle of the mess too, you’re not broken.
You’re becoming. 🤍

Save this for the days you forget that.❤️‍🩹
I’m not a mother, but I was raised by the best o I’m not a mother, but I was raised by the best one. And as a teacher-turned-author, I’ve had the privilege of “mothering” thousands of students over the years.

When I left the classroom, I was nervous to give up that part of me. I knew Jesus was using me to pour into others, but I also knew He was calling me to something new.

Now as an author, my prayer is to keep “mothering” you like a big sis would. Not to correct, but to walk with you through the same struggles I’ve faced—and to remind you that you’re not alone.

That’s why I’m so excited to be part of something special this Mother’s Day. 💐

I’ve teamed up with 14 other Christian women to bring you the Mother’s Day Book Basket Giveaway—a chance to pour into yourself or a woman you love with gifts that will refresh your soul.

🎁 One winner will receive:
📚 11 author-signed books
👜 A cute book tote
💳 A $100 Amazon gift card

And here’s the best part: Everyone who signs up gets a free gift or resource to encourage your faith journey—just for entering!

Let’s honor the women who nurture, uplift, and walk in faith—whether they’re moms, mentors, or simply showing up in love. 💛
What to pray when you’re mentally tired.❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Have you ever been so exhausted you just fall into bed with your arms raised high in surrender? I know I have. More times than I count.

Here’s the good news. You don’t need perfectly poised words to come to our Father. You just need to come. Walk, run, crawl, or inch yourself closer.

Whisper’ “I need you, Jesus.” “You are my strength.” Because when we’re weak, His strength is more than enough.

Let your weariness become your worship. Even when your mind is tired, your spirit can still reach for Him.

🕊️ You are not alone. You are held, seen, and loved—right here, right now.

Save this prayer. Share it with a friend who needs it. Or comment ‘Amen’ if this is your heart today. 💬👇

Just because I smile on Sunday doesn’t mean the Just because I smile on Sunday doesn’t mean the week didn’t break me.

Just because I praise Him in the storm doesn’t mean I’m not still fighting to survive them.

Just because I love Jesus doesn’t mean I won’t struggle.

This life is hard. Can I get an Amen? BUT GOD!! God holds me together when I’m falling apart. And I know He holds you, too. Even when we can’t feel Him near.

This is for the ones who love Jesus but still feel anxious, tired, or not enough. You’re not alone. He sees you. He’s with you. ❤️

➡️Save this. Send this to someone who needs to know it’s okay not to be okay.❤️‍🩹😭

Reminders When You’re Overthinking 🧠 Overthi Reminders When You’re Overthinking 🧠

Overthinking can be loud and chaotic. Spinning thoughts, worst-case scenarios, and the “what ifs” and “should haves.” But here’s what God gently reminds us:

❤️You don’t have to figure it all out.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

❤️Your mind is not meant to carry these burdens alone.
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

❤️Peace is not found in perfect answers, but in His presence.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” — Isaiah 26:3

If your thoughts feel overwhelming, pause. Breathe. Whisper His name. You’re not failing—you’re human. He is still God. And He loves you!

🤍 You are not your overthinking. You are His.

🫶 Tag someone who needs this reminder today. Save this post to come back to when your thoughts get heavy. Or comment ‘peace’ and I’ll pray for you. 💬🙏 We are in this together!!

Ben and I planned to go to Nashville a few months Ben and I planned to go to Nashville a few months ago to see @thethornofficial 😍. A week before our trip, we found out they’d be in our hometown in October 😂. Nevertheless, God was up to something!

Not only did the @writtentospeak happen to be at a book fair festival, but I got to rep @confetticakeproject while meeting him. The @thethornofficial changed my life, and seeing the Gospel come to life was so encouraging. I cried, I laughed, and I left changed.

Even amidst life’s greatest challenges, we can taste and see that the Lord is good. We’re encouraged to stay. Rest in His presence. Listen for Him to speak. See Him. See the good. And live.

If you’re in the fight of your life today, would you hold on? Would you look to the cross? Would you remember the blood that was shed for your sins? Would you call upon His Name? Would you see and internalize His great love for us? Embracing the full extent of His love. Knowing love died for you. All of you. Struggles included?

We can taste and see the Lord’s goodness not because sorrow doesn’t exist, but because something better is coming. Someone better is coming back. And He who rides on the clouds knows your Name.

You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re chosen. You’re worth fighting for.❤️

P.S. Not our dog. The Airbnb had a cutie like our precious Oso.🥰

P.S.S. Tanner and I have the SAME eye color😃. Don’t believe me? Zoom in 🤩
When grief wears a different name... Like chronic When grief wears a different name...
Like chronic illness.
Like loss of energy, independence, or identity.
Like mourning a version of yourself that no longer exists.

I’ve been there.
And maybe you have too.

This kind of grief is quiet. It hides behind “I’m fine.”
But here’s the truth: God doesn’t only meet us in healing.
He meets us in the heartbreak. In the waiting. In the losses no one sees.

🕊️ If this resonated, I put together some of my favorite faith + mental health resources to help you feel less alone.

Some days, writing feels like worship. Others, it Some days, writing feels like worship.
Others, it feels like wrestling.
These past few weeks I’ve experienced both.

Here’s the beauty: On my good and bad days I know I’m one step closer to fulfilling God’s purpose for me.

In the highs and lows.
In the heartbreaks and victories.
In the editing and writing. And re-writing again.
In the rejections and acceptances, nothing can thwart His plans for me. And nothing can stop His plans for YOU.

Not anxiety.
Nor depression.
Or our greatest fears.

Not every step is easy.
Nor is every line or sentence relived.

But both can be used to help others.
To make someone feel seen and known.
To remind them they’re not alone.
They are seen and loved.
Because you are.❤️

And there is power in your story.
A story that includes both wrestling and worship.

➡️ Have you ever felt like your story holds both wrestling and worship? I’d love to hear how God’s met you in the tension.❤️👇👇👇👇

Almost forgot that this is the whole point. Not Almost forgot that this is the whole point.

Not this life.
It’s temporary.
Fleeting.
A vapor gone in a moment.

But this joy,
This peace,
Love.
Smiles.
Sunshine’s.
Doggos.
Family.
Friends.
Experiences.
Nature.
Church.
Worship.
Dance.

These things are but a foretaste of His eternal glory to come.

Life gets crazy.
Stressful.
Overwhelming.
Heavy.
Too much.

But with Jesus?
We remember:
He is still our peace.
Our hope.
Our purpose.
Our calm in the storm.

He is the sunrise over the mountains.
He’s in every laugh and good bite of food.
He’s the Creator to be worshipped over every created thing.

Not how I perform.
Not pretending to be okay when I’m not.
Not hustling my way to healing.

Just Jesus.
Just resting in His presence.
Just being held.
Just existing in His love.
Just living for Him.
No matter what I do.
And knowing that’s enough.
That’s the whole point.
He is enough.
Jesus is enough.

Faith in God is not life-giving if you ignore your mental and emotional health. Healthy faith attends to what you're feeling because it expresses the needs of your heart and soul.
