Dance

Light in the Darkness Adult Dance Company

When I was 3, my mom enrolled me in tap, jazz, and ballet at a traditional studio. I didn’t know then that dance would become part of my ministry. By 18, I’d trained in kick-line, blackout tap, jazz, ballet, acrobatics, contemporary, lyrical, and hip-hop, competing at both the state and national levels.

In college, God led me to create Movements From the Heart; an aesthetic ministry team at Ohio Christian University. I led the team for four years until graduation. Shortly after, I founded Aisthitikos Joy Ministries, an adult aesthetic ministry team. But within two years, COVID brought the ministry to a halt.

For the next two years, I wrestled with a deep longing to dance again. It seemed impossible to find opportunities until one month after my husband Ben and I said “I do,” he asked if I would consider starting another adult ministry team.

My immediate answer was “absolutely not,” but over the next four months, God began changing my heart. He didn’t just provide people for a team, but practice spaces, open hearts, and a renewed purpose.

Today, Ben and I are the founders of Light in the Darkness Adult Dance Ministry Team.

We exist to shine the light of the Gospel into the lives of those walking through mental and physical health struggles.

In John 16:33, Jesus reminds us that we will face trouble on this side of Heaven—including pain, suffering, and loss. But The Light, Jesus Christ, gives us hope because He has been where we are and loves us enough to stay with us.

He provides resources on earth and makes His presence known—even in the darkest places.

Even there.
In the darkness.
Waiting for light to break through.

Will you join us in breaking through the darkness?

our facilities

Currently, we host practices at local studios and Churches that allow us to use their space. Contact us for more information on specific times and locations.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

our staff

Ben and I are the Founders of Light in the Darkness Adult Dance Ministries. We have guest choreographers for the dances we learn. We emphasize creativity, collaboration, and commitment to Christ and character.

You have turned my mourning into dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning & clothed me with joy.

our Beliefs

Light in the Darkness exists to proclaim the Gospel through dance. We believe that this art form can be used to reach a lost and hurting generation.

Struggling with your mental health doesn't make you a bad Christian; it makes you human.
